The Center for Aesthetic Research of the Universidad de los Andes and the Venezuelan Association of Aesthetics, together with the Foundation for the Development of Art and Culture (FUNDEARC), organizers of the “Festival of Venezuelan Cinema”. They invite to the 1st International Symposium of Aesthetics and Cinema on the “Languages of the Audiovisual Factory” from June 16 to 20, 2008, in the city of Mérida, Venezuela. In the last decade, the CIE has organized seminars and symposiums dedicated to the decisive languages of Contemporary Art (Aesthetics and Music, Aesthetics and Architecture, Aesthetics and Visual Arts, Aesthetics and Literature, Aesthetics and Philosophy, Aesthetics and Social Sciences, Aesthetics and Actional Art , Aesthetics and Science) and wants to dedicate this event to one of the most important spaces of current art: La Factory(*) Audiovisual. In almost all the events carried out by us, different work tables, own samples and even awards dedicated to film and video art took place. Nevertheless; We want to thematize some of the essential fields of audiovisual languages and the concepts that mobilize them, due to the immense impact they have for the self-formulation and understanding of contemporary art. The renewed impulse that gave our circuit, first, the creation of the School of Audiovisual Media in 1998 and, second, the reappearance in 2005, 2006, 2007 and in preparation 2008, of the Venezuelan National Film Festival promoted by FUNDEARC, have generated the urgent need to open this meeting of researchers, filmmakers, technicians and artists of the Audiovisual Media that already has an international, local and national presence.
